Carl Stone is a master of sample tinkerage, par excellence. And on this release, we get to peer into his intricate, beautiful, playful and challenging sonic world. The standouts here are the hallucinatorially-beautiful "Shing Kee", and the oft-hilarious Mussorgsky 'remix' "Hop Ken", which subjects "Pictures at an Exhibition" to some amazing, complex, and hilariously perverse alterations. The jazzy "Wall Me Do' is also a nifty little treat. For those who think New Music is a chore, this release will be a real mind-changer!
