I bought Queen Anne's Revenge and The Flying Dutchman. Each one took about 12 hours to do. First review is on Queen Anne's Revenge since I can't do separate reviews.I felt like most of the time was spent popping out all the extra pieces which I had a huge pile of. For the most part it was fairly easy and the material was quite durable. I did run into some issues.Sometimes popping out the pieces ripped the paper even if I was being careful. It was usually inside pieces where it wasn't noticed. The cannons sometimes fell off in certain areas which became frustrating. I had to glue one in place just so I could put the side on.One time I misread the directions and part needed. I popped out the piece fairly easy and realized it was supposed to be connected to another. It wasn't supposed to be two pieces but one big piece and I hadn't even realized I broke it with how easy it came out. Thankfully it was easy to attach and not noticeable. The pieces for the lights on the back of the ship didn't stay closed. I tried regular glue in the slots but it still came undone. I got tired of dealing with it so I used a small piece of tape. Some pieces were hard to bend and I was afraid of breaking. They also didn't always connect together correctly. Sometimes pieces bent when they weren't supposed to which left a crease. None were really noticeable though. There's pretty much no way to change the batteries without taking off pieces. Also not easiest to turn on and off. The light strings were a bit too long as well.On the bottom floor piece there was a hole from a piece that was popped out. I don't believe I ever had anything to go into it. I remember looking at the instructions thinking I missed something but it wasn't even shown on the drawing. Not sure what happened there but definitely not noticed either. As for the instructions, it was pretty easy to understand though at times I had to really look at the drawings to make sure things were right and nothing was missing from a previous step. I do wish it better explained if the number side was supposed to be in or not. I did usually put it inside unless it was obvious it wasn't supposed to. Good news is that if you put a piece wrong it was usually easy to take apart.I somehow completely missed a couple of things which was in the removable area. I was able to put those pieces in with tweezers. That removable area was kind of a pain though. It's the area I had issues with cannons falling out.Overall I enjoyed putting it together. I was surprised how I didn't break it especially when I was trying to put in pieces. The pieces do stay together pretty well once in place.Flying DutchmanI found this one a bit easier to do than the other ship. I did have some issues with it as well.I had problems with the bottom pieces connecting. One part I had to put a few pieces together before connecting it to the rest of the ship. Otherwise it left a huge gap.A few other places I had to do differently to connect as well. Some areas never quite fit together or the connecting pieces popped out.Had some issues with popping out pieces where it tore the design. One piece ripped badly as in half of it. Thankfully it was a small piece that could be hidden. Ended up ripping a slight spot in a sail too. Be really careful with those.Near the end, I felt like instructions became cluttered. I wasn't sure where some pieces went and had to change them around later on after figuring out which piece went where. The sticker pieces were hard to peel at times. Also two of the stickers are labeled wrong. The middle front pieces are switched. Realized when I got to other side that one didn't match design either. Also feel like these should've been done at same time and not later on.I gotta say the pop out pieces were pretty good at blending in. A few different times I was trying to figure out where a piece went before realizing I didn't pop out the piece. Then there were the netting pieces that popped out which wasn't even shown to be like that. It made partial holes but doesn't look bad. This ship was my favorite of the two. It can easily be turned on and off unlike the other.
